Network Advisor Recognized Among Best Compliance/Vulnerability Management Solutions for Third Consecutive Year
Santa Clara, CA (PRWEB) October 26, 2011 RedSeal announced today that for the third year in a row, leading government industry publication GSN: Government Security News has recognized RedSeal Network Advisor as a finalist in the “Security Compliance, Auditing, and Vulnerability Management Solutions” category of its Homeland Security Awards.
Selected by a panel of independent judges, the awards salute dedicated IT security officials and agencies across every level of the U.S government – along with outstanding solutions vendors – that have made key contributions to the protection of national cyber-security interests over the last year.
RedSeal Network Advisor automatically assesses the security of an organization’s entire network, providing detailed visibility into all available access and demonstrating the effectiveness of infrastructure in protecting critical assets, and maintaining compliance with mandated policies.
By continuously analyzing the interaction of all network devices to proactively identify gaps in security, before they can be compromised, RedSeal empowers agencies to optimize remediation while ensuring the most effective allocation of their staff and resources.
In addition to empowering government agencies to meet specific requirements of the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) regarding continuous network monitoring and near real-time risk management, Network Advisor generates metrics trending security infrastructure’s response to changing demands, as prescribed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB).
“The federal government has mandated that agencies need to be more consistent in identifying their existing security challenges to proactively address advanced attacks and the complexity of today’s evolving infrastructure,” said Parveen Jain, President and CEO of RedSeal Systems. “We’ve experienced tremendous adoption among government organizations because we’re also fully committed to use of preventative strategy. The only way to know where you stand every day and communicate risk effectively is through continuous analysis and clear reporting of actionable security intelligence.”
Along with perennial recognition from GSN as a solutions provider vital to improvement of U.S. homeland security, RedSeal’s relevance to government agencies’ vision was further validated by unprecedented growth of its use among federal agencies.
In January 2011, RedSeal was named a strategic partner of In-Q-Tel (IQT), the strategic investment firm that engages with makers of “cutting-edge technologies that serve the national security interests” to advance use of its solutions in support of continuous monitoring among the U.S. Intelligence Community.
RedSeal also won deals with seven other federal agencies over the course of the year, and experienced considerable adoption and deployment expansion in the intelligence community. Use of RedSeal solutions also grew to include four agencies at the Department of Defense alone, while winning the business of three additional civilian government agencies. At two extremely large, influential federal administrations, RedSeal was adopted as a key instrument for expanded use of ongoing internal “blue team” risk assessments.
Based on NIST’s August recommendations for federal agencies to employ even greater use of quantitative metrics, and so-called “probabilistic attack graphs” that visualize data and trends in security performance, RedSeal officials believe that the company’s solutions are poised for even broader adoption heading into 2012.
Winners of the GSN Homeland Security Awards will be announced at a formal dinner to be held on the evening of Monday, November 14, 2011, in Washington, D.C.
